App of the Week: Amazing Alex

If you recall our review of the game 100 Floors, you know we get hooked on some pretty challenging, addicting and frustrating mobile games. This week's App of the Week is no different.

Amazing Alex is the newest release from Rovio, the company behind Angry Birds, and it's just as challenging as any bird-flinging or floor-solving puzzle we've brought to you yet.

The object of this game is to roll a soccer ball into a laundry basket, with increasing levels of obstacles in the way. But remember, this game is made by the same people who brought you Angry Birds, so it's not just that simple.

In Amazing Alex, you have to roll soccer balls and tennis balls down slanted shelves, popping balloons along the way, and knocking over books at times to collect each level's stars. If that sounds complicated, believe us, it can be! (Don't worry, the game has tutorial levels.) But since this game is like 100 Floors, and it asks you to solve levels without giving you much of a clue as to how to do that, we can't spoil the whole thing for you. But if you get stumped on any part of the game, there are plenty of places on the Internet to help you out.

So If you're a big fan of Angry Birds (and let's face it, we all are), Amazing Alex is right up your alley. The game just came out last week in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play App Store.

Since it's so new, you'll have to shell out $.99 for the game, or $2.99 for the HD version. That's a big drawback for this game in our opinion (there is a free trial version with limited gameplay for Android users). But the game itself is fun and addicting, so if you love puzzle games, check this one out.
