We can't help it, we just love puzzles, and Flow is the perfect app to feed our puzzle addiction.

Flow Free is like if connect the dots and a puzzle had an awesome little digital baby. You start with a grid with an even number of different colored dots. The goal is to use the grid as a path to connect each pair of matching colored dots, but you have to use every square of the grid to do it.

The app is free and supported by ads, though if you purchase any set of buyable grids – an in-app purchase – the ads will go away. Don't worry, though, you don't have to purchase a set of grids to start playing, the free game comes with hundreds of free play grids to solve and who knows how many time trial grids. There's even a special "Jumbo Packet" just for tablets.

The ads aren't even really that annoying, with a banner at the bottom and a pop-up ad every once in a while. But we are tempted to purchase a new pack, mostly just to support the developer.

We have a couple of tips to help you get started. First off, how well you do is partially based on how many moves you make to solve a puzzle, so to do your best you'll want to drag you finger from one dot to it's corresponding dot, so it only counts as one move. Our second tip is to start from the outside and work your way in, it won't always work out, but it's a good rule of thumb.

We've only played in free play mode because the time trial mode scares us. But maybe you'll be braver than we are. All we know is that if you're into puzzle apps, you have to try this one out.

Flow Free is available for free for iOS devices HERE and Android devices HERE.
