“We are a group made up of Terra students and community members,” said show director and Fremont native, Jeff Blanchard. With just under twenty group members, students are able to be in the brass choir for ensemble credit at the college.

Blanchard compared the song list for the concert to new flavors of ice cream, the same base with new flavoring twists. “We’ll be performing traditional, beloved Christmas carols as well as putting a new, different type of spin and sound on some too” he said.
Pieces will include “Angels We Have Heard on High”, “Jingle Bells”, a jazzy version of “We Three Kings” by Lennie Niehaus, a trumpet solo of “O Holy Night” by Blanchard himself and many other holiday favorites.
“There will be a few songs that we hope audience members will sing along with us, but the rest of the songs, the audience can just sit back and enjoy,” Blanchard concluded.
Terra State Community College will present “Christmas with Brass” on Saturday, December 8 at the First Presbyterian Church, 120 South Park Avenue, in Fremont. Free and open to the public, the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
