Santa Claus is coming to town!

The Sandusky Mall will welcome Saint Nicholas at their annual celebration at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the mall, 4314 Milan Road in Sandusky.

“We have had Santa Claus at the mall since it opened in 1976,” said Mary Sartor, marketing director for the mall. “It is an annual celebration and this year is no exception.”

The festivities will start with a magic show by Greg Carson, Magical Entertainer at 11 a.m. Carson will amaze the audience with magic tricks and then make Santa appear at noon.

“Kids and adults are fascinated by his magic and love to see him perform,” Sartor said. “We thought this would be a fun way to welcome Santa to mall for the holiday season.”

Kids from all over the area flock to the mall every year to see Santa and ask him for a special gift for Christmas. It has become a holiday tradition for the mall and the region.

“It is a pretty popular thing to do with your children during the holidays,” Sartor said. “We usually get around 100 little ones a year who want to see Santa.”

Parents bring their children and stand in line to get a few minutes with Father Christmas.

“What child does not want to see Santa,” Sartor said. “Santa even has helpers as he talks to children and sometimes Rudolph even makes a surprise appearance.”

Children can also get their pictures taken with Santa and receive a free treat from Mrs. Fields Cookies.

During the holidays the mall hours will also be extended to accommodate Santa and Santa’s helpers as they prepare for Christmas.
