“The fun will start with Santa Clause arriving at the Island House Hotel and visiting with area children,” said Laura Schlachter, program manger for Main Street Port Clinton. “There will also be hot cocoa, cookies and an opportunity to have your photo taken with Santa.”

Businesses in downtown Port Clinton will also be hosting open houses and offering special shopping deals.

“Approximately 20 businesses will be participating and offering a variety of special holiday deals,” Schlachter said. “We wanted to show people that they could get unique Christmas gifts for their loved ones right in their backyard and encourage residents to shop locally.”

Some of the businesses will also be doing family activities as well. Some of these activities include cookie decorating, a coloring contest and a variety other arts and crafts themed activities.

After shoppers visit the wonderful stores of downtown Port Clinton they can watch the annual Community Christmas Parade.

The parade will start at the intersection of Monroe and Perry Street and travel to Madison Street then to Second Street and end at Adams Street Park.

“It will be a whole day full of fun family activities,” Schlachter said. “So come down and enjoy the holidays with us.”
