It used to be that as soon as Thanksgiving is over the Christmas celebrations began. Nowadays we can’t even wait until after Thanksgiving is over Christmas music is already piping through store speakers and we’ve all seen all the Christmas decorations and advertisements in the stores.
But one big thing that still holds out until after Thanksgiving is the local tree lighting ceremonies, and we’ve rounded them up for you right here.
•DOWNTOWN SANDUSKY’S annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony is November 23 6-8 p.m. at Schade-Mylander Plaza, north end of Columbus Avenue and down the street at Washington Park.
•The annual event Light Up NORWALK will take place in downtown Norwalk on November 24 from 3-8:30 p.m. finishing with the Main Street tree lighting ceremony at 8 p.m.
•VERMILION’S Christmas tree lighting ceremony is at the gazebo at Victory Park, off of Main Street, on November 24 at 7 p.m.
•CLYDE is hosting their annual Christmas Fest parade and tree lighting ceremony in downtown on Main Street on November 23 at 6 p.m. and the festival continues until Sunday, November 25.
•Community Christmas in DOWNTOWN PORT CLINTON will take place on December 1 from 2-6 p.m. with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. on Main Street.
•The lighting of the Christmas tree in Adolphus Kraemer Park on Church Street, in DOWNTOWN OAK HARBOR, takes place on December 1 at 4:45 p.m.
•Santa will be coming to KELLEYS ISLAND’S Memorial Park on Division Street, for their annual tree lighting ceremony on November 23 from 6-7 p.m.
