WHEN: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14
WHERE: Kalahari Resort, 7000 Kalahari Drive, Sandusky
Girls’ Night Out (GNO) has helped raise over $238,000 for cancer focused programs including Cancer Services serving Erie County, Firelands Regional Medical Center, North Coast Cancer Foundation and Fisher-Titus Medical Center’s mammography fund, and this year hopes to raise even more.
“We’re going to be located in the new conference center at Kalahari, which gives us more space for more people to attend. We’re excited by that,” said co-founder of Girls’ Night Out, Doug Studer.
The increased size means that GNO is expecting about 500 more attendees than last year, making the total possible number of guests in attendance approximately 1800.
Doors open at 4 p.m. where you can browse and shop from local vendors until the big night starts. “There will be jewelry, food samplings, raffles for prizes of sorts and more,” said Studer. Dinner will be provided by Kalahari catering and entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m.
Entertainment for this year’s GNO will be provided by Sally Baucke, a professional comedian and keynote speaker and Elvis impersonator, Walt Sanders. Plus, the Christian Cloggers Dance Team return for their second appearance at the event. “It’s going to be a fun night,” said Studer.
Throughout the evening, all the bras that were previously entered in the Bras for a Cause contest will be displayed. Later, some will be auctioned off during the silent auction that will benefit the local cancer services.
“This year alone we’re expecting to have seventy five bras to display” said Studer. “Last year we had fifty-one bras.”
Tickets are $45 and are available at different locations that are listed on www.girlsnightoutcharity.com, as well as online.
“Grab your girlfriends and come to a fun night out to support these local charities,” said Studer. Hope to see you there!
