Help out a neighbor with beer, burgers and brownies in Port Clinton

A burger, beer and brownie benefit for Lynn Domokos, a previous manager of OurGuest Inn and Suites, will be thrown this Saturday from 12-6 p.m. “She was a very devoted young lady who gave her life to the Port Clinton community, it’s now time to help her,” said owner, Deb Miller.

The benefit is for Lynn Domokos, the previous manager of the OurGuest Inn and Suites who was the life of the inn, and of Port Clinton, for sixteen years. Earlier this year, Domokos was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and after residing in the Cleveland Clinic for ten weeks, is now required to stay at home with very limited abilities.

“She is home now. We are seeing positive signs but this disease left her with extensive medical bills and all proceeds from this event will go toward helping pay for them,” said Deb Miller, owner of OurGuest Inn and Suites. "Lynn was a very devoted young lady who gave her life to the Port Clinton community, now it is time to help her.”

The benefit will begin at noon and continue until 6 p.m. on Saturday. “Stop by for an hour, or spend the whole day with us,” said Mills.

So why burgers and beer? “Honestly I am sick of spaghetti fundraisers so I thought what does everyone like? People like beer and grilled burgers with all the fixings and brownies, because everyone likes brownies” said Miller with a laugh. Vegan burgers will also be on the menu, along with soft drinks, chips and other snacks.

A full bar will also be available.

All the food is donated, so all the proceeds will go toward Domoko’s outstanding medical expenses. “A percentage of the bar’s total sales will go toward her as well,” said Mills.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by the Lake Erie Local band from 3-6 p.m. in the Listening Room. Lake Erie Local is made up of local musicians and songwriters including Ron Nisch, Jerry Davenport, Frankie Bickell, Larry Fletcher, Slate Kessler and Ron Miller. “They will be performing for their first time in the Listening Room,” said Miller.

You can purchase tickets for the event at The OurGuest Inn and Suites, or call the Inn at 419-734-7111 for more information.
