The Mon Ami Winery will be hosting Seniors Gone Wild from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 10 at their winery, 3845 E. Wine Cellar Rd. in Port Clinton.

“We recently started this event and it takes place every other Wednesday,” said Richard Saponari, organizer of the event. “We invite area residents who are 50 years old or better to come and have fun with us.”

WHAT: Seniors Gone Wild
WHEN: 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 10
WHERE: Mon Ami Winery and Restaurant, 3845 E. Wine Cellar Rd. in Port Clinton
COST: $5 cover charge

Saponari got the idea for the event after attending a similar event in Florida.

“It is a blast we have a hula hoop contest, prizes and live entertainment,” Saponari said. “We play 50’s and 60’s music and people come dressed up in poodle skirts, beehive hair and other trends of the time period.”

The event, which only started a few months ago, attracts up to 500 people each Wednesday.

“We have blue plate specials that cost $5.55 and feature chicken pot pie, sliders and other comfort food,” Saponari said. “There is also drink specials.”

With an expanding amount of seniors living in the area, this celebration gives seniors a place to gather and cut loose. The group has even formed a Facebook page, where they brainstorm new activities to add to the celebration and spread the word about the bi-weekly event. Check it out HERE.

“People like having others they can relate to and talk to that are their own age,” Saponari said. “It is really fun for everyone, if you are 50 and better you should definitely check this wild event out.”
