D and D Smith Winery will be hosting their annual Women in Need of Shopping (WINO) event from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 13 at their winery, 401 W Main Street in Norwalk.

“We will have nine different vendors on-hand and women and their families are invited to enjoy free samples of wine and browse the various items that will be for sale,” said Danielle Smith, co-owner of the winery. “It should be a really fun event, with some really unique items for sale.”

All the vendors on-hand have been previously used by D and D Smith Winery for prior events throughout the year, so the winery knows their products are top quality.

“The vendors will also be raffling off items throughout the event, so attendees could walk away with some prizes as well,” Smith said. “There will also be some food vendors on-hand offering samples, so you can also leave with a full stomach.”

Some fun activities will also be taking place during the shopping, including an interesting wine pairing with different chocolates. There will also be a purse demonstration to show ladies different ways they can wear their favorite handbag.

“We have had this event in the past and it is always pretty popular,” Smith said. “People seem to like being able to go shopping with their friends, while drinking some wine.”

Currently the plan is to have the event inside, but if the weather is nice the event may move outside. It is really all weather dependent.

Admission to the WINO event at D and D Smith Winery is free. However, bottles of the winery’s popular wines will be available for purchase, as well as a variety of products from area vendors, so bring your wallet.
