Sandusky Bay Pavilion will be hosting the annual Wightman-Wieber Safety Fair and Kids Fun Festival, presented by Sandusky City Schools, City of Sandusky, Maritime Museum of Sandusky, and Sandusky Children's Museum.
Beginning the festivities will be a showing of the Disney musical sensation, Frozen on Friday, May 16th. Doors to the Pavilion will open at 7:30PM, and the movie will start at sunset. The first 500 children in attendance to the show will be given a free bicycle helmet.
The next day, the Sandusky Bay Pavilion will come alive with the sound of children's laughter. Starting on Saturday, May 17th at noon and lasting until 5PM, the festival will include countless family fun activities. Amongst them are, face painting, inflatable bounce houses, food vendors, Captain Willie's Pirate show, photo booths, Wicked Wacky Golf, and much much more. Admission is only one canned good or non-perishable food item (per person). All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the Safety Fair and Fun Festival, this year, eight local organizations will be celebrating International Museum Day. Participating museums will be offering free admission, as well as having a number of activities, fun for the whole family.
Erie County museums celebrating include:
The Edison Birthplace, offering free tours by costumed interpreters, science activities for children and vintage children's games outside.
The Cooke-Dorn House, with a Hula Hoop Contest (amongst other activities), at 3:00 p.m. with a prize for first place.
The Erie County Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee, offering children’s games at the Sandusky Bay Pavilion.
The Follett House Museum, guests are invited to pose for a reproduction photograph and to make a craft.
The Maritime Museum of Sandusky, guests can make a model boat, and take a free boat ride aboard the Goodtime I-Lake Erie Island Cruises at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The rides depart from the Meigs Street Pier at Battery Park Marina.
The Merry-Go-Round Museum will have a coloring activity and will offer $1.00 carousel rides.
The Milan Museum Folk Art Frenzy, you can paint your own version of a folk art masterpiece, and see it hung in the Galpin Mini-Masters Gallery.
The Ohio Veterans Home Museum will screen vintage war movies and offer games for children.
