Our editor, Morgan, got a gift today in the mail today. Instead of a typical rectangular shaped shipping box, it was a cylinder that reminded me of a telescope a pirate would use to find land. When we opened said gift, it turned out to be a magic wand and instructions for use, which is way cooler than a telescope, no offense, pirates.
The wand is required to play the live action game, MagiQuest, coming to the Great Wolf Lodge for the first time on Saturday, January 12. Because MagiQuest is new to our area, I had to find out what was going on, and it sounds awesome.
Want to go?
WHEN: 2-6 p.m. Saturday, January 12
WHERE: Great Wolf Lodge, 4600 Milan Road (US 250), Sandusky
COST: $9.99 for gameplay and $14.99-$19.99 for wands
Happening from 2-6 p.m. you’ll definitely want to check out this event if you get as excited as we do about games that involve magic, battling a dragon, witches and wizards and enchanted kingdoms.
I hope to see you there, because I’m going to check it out this weekend and will report back on what I see, as well as what I think of the game, since I’m going to try my hand at battling that dragon. Check out my review on Monday afternoon at Funcoast.com.
All ages can join in on the magic that takes place on all four floors of the resort. “Families love the game because the whole family can do it together” said Amanda Roark, communication manager for Great Wolf Lodge.
Admission to the game is $9.99 and you’ll want to purchase one of the game’s wands ranging in price from $14.99-$19.99, to get the full experience. They come in a variety of styles and a range of prices.
Great Wolf Lodge will be revealing a MagiQuest gift shop where players can purchase said wands, as well as costumes if they wish to dress up as a princess or knight, ready to slay the dragon.
