Jam of the Week: Paul McCartney, 'Cut Me Some Slack'

Let’s be honest, when the rumor spread about Paul McCartney getting together with Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear at last week’s “12.12.12” fundraiser, expectations were cringe-worthy at best. It turns out we couldn’t have been more wrong.

The performance was anything but an embarrassment. Watch video of it here:

Furthermore, when the quartet appeared this past weekend on “Saturday Night Live,” the hard rock jam was even better than its debut.

Sure, the erstwhile Nirvana members provided plenty of punch, lead by Grohl’s thunderous beats, but it was McCartney at age 70 that showed off his blues guitar-playing prowess.

The entire 5 minute clip felt historic, but not for nostalgia sake. Instead, it was pure magic that will be remembered for decades to come.

"Cut Me Some Slack" is available to download from Amazon HERE, Google play HERE and iTunes HERE. The full album "Sound City - Real to Reel" is set to be released March 12, 2013, but if you pre-order the album on iTunes you will receive "Cut Me Some Slack" as an immediate download.
