Remember about seven years ago when every high schooler on television was slow dancing to the Lifehouse song "You and Me?" Yeah, we do too. So, as overplayed as that song was, we had to check out the band's new album "Almeria."
We have to admit, we were pleasantly surprised. This album isn't the all-over-the-place bundle of songs that many albums these days are. With a few exceptions, all of the songs had some kind of a western/cowboy theme that we really enjoyed.
The band has also done a good job of maturing and moving with the times while still holding onto that core sound that makes us reminisce without thinking 'oh god, remember how overplayed that one song was?'
We are especially big fans of the album's second track "Between The Raindrops," featuring Natasha Bedingfield. Check out the video:
We like the way the airy feel of Natasha Bedingfield's voice contrasts with heavier country feel of Jason Wade's voice on this track.
"Between The Raindrops" is available for download from iTunes HERE, Amazon HERE and Google play HERE.
Every Friday, we post a Jam of the Week — a relatively new song that has caught our ear. Like it? Hate it? Let us know. Or better yet, tell us what YOUR Jam of the Week is.
