Erie Islands Resort and Marina hosts second annual Musicfest

A local resort is opening their doors to the community for a fun filled day this Memorial Day weekend.

Erie Islands Resort and Marina is hosting their second annual Musicfest from 2 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, May 25 at their resort, 4495 W. Darr-Hopfinger Road in Port Clinton.

“Last year was our kick off year of this event and it turned out great,” said Joan Gerallsky, general manager for Erie Islands Resort and Marina. “Because of that success we decided to continue hosting this event and hope it will become an annual celebration.”

The resort, which used to be private and now is open to the public, offers vacation rentals, as well as a variety of other fun activities for families to enjoy. 
Some of the features of the resort include hiking trails, multiple swimming pools, paddle boats, volleyball, miniature golf, a fishing pier and a poolside bar. 
“We have a wide variety of vacation accommodations including cottage rentals, RV and tent camping sites and townhouse rentals,” Gerallsky said. “This event is the perfect opportunity to see some of our facility and imagine the fun you could 
have here.”
The celebration will kick off with a large Texas style barbeque and live music by the Legend Band. After the Legend Band is done playing 50’s and 60’s classic rock, acoustic guitarist David Lester will perform and then top 40’s rock cover band High Impact will close out the night. 
“Tickets to the event are $20 and include the Texas barbeque,” Gerallsky said. “We will also have the bar open and will have beer specials going on.”
The Texas barbeque will only be offered from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., so attendees are encouraged to come early.
“Come out and enjoy some great food and live music,” Gerallsky said. “You won’t want to leave after you see how beautiful and tranquil our resort is.”
