The Ohio Bike Week Dice Run will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4th at various locations throughout the island.
“Basically bikers come and after they complete the registration they go to various bars throughout the island,” said Kelly Bradford, executive director for the Kelleys Island Chamber of Commerce. “At each bar they roll dice and the bartender records their scores.”
After traveling to 10 to 12 locations, participants come back to the Kelleys Island Casino and have their overall score totaled.
“The person with the highest and lowest scores will received custom gift baskets,” Bradford said. “Usually the gift baskets include t-shirts, hoodies, gift cards and other gifts from Kelleys.”
Because participants are on motorcycles organizers are trying to come up with gifts that can be easily transported, something that has been an issue in past years.

What: Ohio Bike Week Dice Run
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4th
Where: Various locations on Kelleys Island
“For some of these bikers this is the first time they have ever been on the island, so taking their bikes on the ferry is all new to them,” Bradford said. “We tried to map out the event, so riders will see the high points of the island, so this really is a great way to explore Kelleys.”
In past years up to 845 people have participated in the event, so organizers are expecting a large turnout this year.
“It is a really fun event,” Bradford said. “The baskets are valued at around $250 a piece, so come out and learn a little more about Kelleys and maybe win some great gifts.”
Registration for the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bag the Moon and the cost to participate is $10. Winners will be announced between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and attendees can enjoy live music by the Burnt River Band.
Some of the stops on the Ohio Bike Week Dice Run include the Village Pump, Kelleys Island Winery and the Kelleys Island Brewery.
