Nominations for the 2013 Readers' Choice Awards will begin on Monday, Jan. 21 and will end on Thursday, Jan. 31.
There will be two ways to nominate your favorite businesses for our 40 RCA categories (check out the list HERE), so we broke this story up into two parts, Paper Ballots and Nominating Online.
But before we explain, we have two important things to tell you, that we really want you to remember.
1. If you are nominating a business with multiple locations, please include the name of the business as well as the town where it is located, i.e. Berardi's, Sandusky or Berardi's, Huron, etc.
2. We're going to be giving away a Kindle Fire to one lucky Funcoaster who votes online. The more you vote, the better your chance is of winning, so make sure to vote daily.
So, moving on, since we like to be chivalrous, we'll let age go before beauty and start with paper.
The first 25 categories for this year's Readers' Choice Awards will be listed on our special paper ballots, as well as on the online ballots. Unlike the online ballot, which you can only submit once every 24 hours, we don't have any time restrictions on the paper ballots. This means that nominations for these categories are almost unlimited. Though, not quite unlimited, because we're only putting so many paper ballots out into the world, and we won't accept photo copies, only the ones we sent out. We're printing them on special, blue, Funcoast paper, so we'll know.
These special paper ballots can only be found at certain local business locations, including:

Once you've filled out your paper ballot you can either drop it in one of the cans located at all the places where you will be able to pick up paper ballots, or drop them off at The Sandusky Register building, 314 W. Market St., Sandusky. Just make sure they're in before everyone closes on Thursday. (We close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, if you're going to drop yours off at the Register.)
The online nomination form's specific time period of operation will be 12 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21-11:59 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. As soon as it's available, we'll put a link to it right HERE. But don't worry, there'll be lots of other ways for you to get to it, too.
So, to submit nominations online all you have to do is type in your nomination for each category in the box below the category's name and then click the submit button at the bottom of the page.
Users are welcome to fill out the online nomination ballot multiple times, but each user is only allowed to submit an online ballot once every 24 hours. The 24 hour time period is based on the time when you last submitted a ballot. Therefore, if you submit a ballot at 3:49 p.m. on Monday, you will have to wait until at least 3:49 p.m. on Tuesday to submit your next ballot.
