Famous for their summer foam parties, shamrock shenanigans and hosting several local bands, The Underground building will once again sit empty in two short weeks.

According to their Facebook:

"After 15 + years of serving the Sandusky Music Scene, it is with heavy hearts we announce, The Underground will be closing our doors to the public as of October 1st 2013. A reasonable offer was made to take the licenses elsewhere, and after much deliberation and soul searching, the owners decided it was time. We know there will be mixed feelings about this from our patrons, friends, performers, supporters, and naysayers alike.
What's done is done.
Whatever may be, may be... please keep positive. We appreciate everyone who helped make The Underground the place it will always be in our hearts, and we hope we can all move forward, and look back fondly. We thank you kindly."

Check out these shows for Underground's Final Farewell Week:
Wednesday Sep 25:
Mobb Deep
Friday Sep 27: 40 Below Summer, Know Lyfe, Dog, Scenic Idaho & more
Saturday Sep 28: Russett Burbank, Ignite the Borealis, 419, Mike Risner, Alister, Last Rite, & Many More

So I take it bob Sr sold the licenses out from under the guys running the place what a shame

They had a lot of fights & calls to the police anyway. Sounds like a good idea in the long run.
