Sheer Comfort

Our Funcoast fashion guru, Gina Undaground, gives some tips on what to wear this fall, and why not to put away some of your summer staples just yet.

Don’t put your summer bandeau, tube and even bikini tops away quite yet!  Wear these pieces under sheer 90’s, Clueless/Alicia Silverstone-esque button-down blouses and tunics for just the right amount of coverage!  This style is super hot right now, so you will be able to find baggy, sheer shirts everywhere; nonetheless, I suggest going old school and scoring an authentic vintage version at a local thrift shop or online marketplace.

Believe it or not, translucent pants and skirts are a big early-fall fashion player showing up on many runaways.  I haven’t had the chance to purchase a pair of flowing, see-though pantaloons (with a range of styles from harem to palazzo), but I imagine they would feel a lot like wearing pajamas…or a thin layer of cozy, airy clouds on your legs all day!  They are also a reason not to stash your sexy summer spanks & hot pants in the back of your closet!  Light layering is a key fashion theme during this mild-weathered month.

A way to get a high-fashion edition of this look for cheap: pair a mid-length sheer slip under a micro mini-skirt.  Play with different textiles…chiffon with suede, or maybe lace with wool.  I suggest monotone or contrasting blacks with neutrals, but don’t be afraid to go bold if you find the right combo! Express yourself through dress ;)
