Public Open House Set for EPS Green Energy Day 2008

With the recent spike in the price of gasoline and other energy, the fall elections have focused on sustainable energy resources as a major campaign topic.  With this in mind,

EPS (Engineered Process Systems), a Huron company that specializes in the development of wind power and other “green” systems, is hosting a Public Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. at their offices at 205 Sprowl Road, located just off River Road, to showcase how local businesses, residents and other organizations are leading the way to energy independence.   EPS is the only local company recognized by the Ohio Department of Development, which markets and sells wind turbines up to 250 KW (kilowatt).

According to Mike Spacek, Director of Energy Services, “Information about our wind turbine and how it transforms wind power into electricity, along with several other displays will be available to the general public.  We are excited to have area residents stop to see our wind turbine, which is leading the way to reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources.”

Refreshments will be served and there will be activities for the kids.  Other information about Sustainable Energy Alternatives will be available.  A shopping bag made of recycled material will be given to those persons attending, as a token of appreciation, while supplies last.

The event is being held in conjunction with the Ohio Solar Tour, a statewide event where residents can visit local companies that utilize sustainable energy resources.  The Ohio Solar Tour bus from northwest Ohio is expected to arrive at the site between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The Ohio Solar Tour is sponsored by Green Energy Ohio, Columbus.
