His father Neil Finn has penned number one hits for Split Endz, Crowded House, and his own solo releases. Growing up living half your life on the road, seeing an amazing musician perform night after night, one would think the influence of Neil would be heavy, and it is, however Liam has established his own sound, that integrates beautiful pop songs with a tinge of punk, all while maintaining the unique Finn vocal sound. Liam in recent years has fronted a band called Betchadupa, which for their age might have been one of the best rock band around. They toured with such bands as Pearl Jam, the Killers, and many others. After sharpening his skills with the band he felt an urge to record a record on his own, and has recorded very impressive and mature songs that he couldn't have done with his old band. He pretty much plays all the instruments on the album and chose to record only onto analog equipment so the music has a sound reminiscent of 70s style recordings but he brings something truly fresh to the table with his songwriting skills that is unlike anything of the past."
