Annual Duck Dash 500
Each year in August the Vermilion Port Authority hosts the Annual Duck Dash 500 on the Vermilion River. Proceeds from the race go towards the Water Tower restoration and Port Authority projects. All you need to do is adopt a duck for $5 or purchase a "Quack Pack" of 6 for $25. Then meet at the Vermilion River bridge, McGarvey's Landing, and watch your duck be dumped in the river and race towards the finish line! First place winner gets a $1000, second place receives $500, and third place gets $250. Tickets are available at participating merchants and marinas throughout Vermilion.
