Amici Italiani, Inc. of Wooster, Ohio is pleased to announce Festa Italaina 2008 to be held Friday, August 1 from 6 pm to 11 pm and Saturday, August 2 from 10 am to 11 pm in the square of downtown Wooster, rain or shine. A catholilc mass will be held at 9 am to open Saturday's activities.

Festa Italiana is a celebration of the ethnic cultural traditions of food, friendship and music, and an expression of the many rich customs that have been handed down from genereation to generation, in Wooster's Italian community.

The main stage entertainment, sponsored by Pallotta Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, will include musical performances by Carmelina, Rick Cicconetti and Sweet Breeze, Neil Jacobs, Franco Simone, Matt Schaffer, Stick People, Good Vibes, Good Company, The Angels, 2 Pov Crew, Chain Reaction, and more. Other entertainment will include an authentic organ grinder and monkey, clowns, classic Italian car display, Italian Vespa scooter display, children's activities and much more.

Vendors will be offering a variety of delectable foods, both Italian and American, to tempt your pallet. Plenty of homemade Italian food will be available, full dinners, sandwiches, salads and desserts. The Beer Garden will offer beer, wine, water and soft drinks.

A farmers market will offer locally grown fresh produce on Saturday. Street vendors will be offering Italian products and souvenirs both days.

Plan to spend Friday evening and all day Saturday in downtown Wooster on August 1st and 2nd. Drink, dance, laugh: EVERYONE will be be Italian for the day!
