Big movies on a big (outdoor) screen

The annual Kelleys Island Outdoor Film Festival is here once more, and the event is bigger and better than ever. The festival takes place at 8:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the park, with two films being shown each night. The entire event is free.


Big top brings excitement to K.I.

If you’re out on the water next weekend and see an elephant or two riding a ferry, don’t worry, you’re not going crazy. It’s just the Kelly Miller Circus returning to Kelleys Island. The performances will take place at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m. on August 2-3.

Phlock to the Bay for some family fun

Put-in-Bay will be rocking this weekend with the 36th annual Jose DeRivera Founder’s Day Celebration on Sunday afternoon and the 16th annual Phlocking of the Phaithful, a weekend of music and merriment that draws hundreds of Jimmy Buffet fans, or Parrotheads, from all over the country.

It isn’t our intent to kill your buzz here, but in the event of rain during Bike Week, it’s good to know your options. There’s more to the area than Cedar Point and outdoor activities, so if you’re in town and want to know what to do in case of bad weather, look no further.

The five-year anniversary of Kalahari’s opening was marked by a special event: the fruition of one of the resort’s biggest goals. The Safari Outdoor Adventure Park, Kalahari’s newest addition, will appeal to daredevils of all ages, featuring an exciting zip line, challenging ropes courses and rock climbing walls.
