It's time for school again (sigh) but that doesn't mean there aren't still some new flicks to see in the theater. This weekend brings us two new releases and that is where their similarities end. One is a drama/horror movie about a young girl being possessed by the devil and the other a crime/action flick starring a group of young and extremely good-looking bank robbers.

While it probably won’t be the biggest box office weekend of the summer, Will Ferrell’s “The Other Guys” and dance epic “Step Up 3D” deserve to (and probably will) make very decent showings. These movies prove that there’s nothing wrong with summertime fluff as long as you’re willing to buy into the premise.

This week in movies, we've got a kid-friendly flick based on the beloved Beverly Cleary series and a gorgeous CIA officer operating in what seems to be a near-plotless movie.
While it’s good to see a strong female action hero in a large-scale film, the far-fetched plot and weak writing make “Salt” an outlandish spy thriller that feels very Cold War-ish. In Soviet Russia, you don’t shake salt; Salt shakes you.

Finally a weekend with more than one big release. With The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Inception opening, this week’s box office battle is between two highly anticipated movies.
Summertime and the movie-going is easy. Run-of-the-mill summer movies are all the rage this week, featuring the hyper-advertised “Despicable Me” and the gruesome “Predators.” Simple, mindless movies to fill the long, hot hours? Who could ask for anything more?
This week in the movies two fun movies finally hit the theatres. The Last Airbender has been teasing all its fans for almost two years and it finally is coming out (hurray!). Also out in the theatres is The Twilight Saga: Eclipse... OMG! Twihards, you can get your fix of sparkling vamps at last.
This weekend brings us two new thetrical releases. We get to see Pixar blow the dust off of some of their more famous creations from the immensely popular Toy Story series and Jonah Hex is all about guns, revenge and a super-hot chick in a very tight corset.
This week’s new movies aren’t exactly new. Both The Karate Kid and The A-Team are remakes of a movie and a TV show, respectively. What I want to know is this: whatever happened to coming up with new ideas?
This week in movies, we've got cute covered in a multicultural documentary about babies, a fix for younger action aficionados in Prince of Persia and the return of four of the most fabulous ladies from television.
