I've been hearing the rumor that Xbox Live was going to go free-to-play for years now. With Nintendo and Sony hot on their heels, one would think that Microsoft would be doing whatever it takes to stay on top of the online market. So, what's their master strategy for keeping people coming back to Xbox Live? Raising prices.

StarCraft II: a game for all skill levels

Any discussion of the real-time strategy genre undoubtedly involves the mention of StarCraft. Released in 1998, the game’s popularity was so great that it still sells copies even to this day. When you combine that with the usual over-the-top expectations fans have when it comes to Blizzard games, it sets the bar for a sequel almost astronomically high. Coming from a developer so highly revered, though, I never should’ve doubted them.

Puzzle Agent nothing short of addicting

Yet another sequel that doesn’t quite succeed

So far in 2010, I’ve played an awful lot of games with a “2” at the end of the title. Sequels have been coming out left and right as publishers try to cash in on popular franchises. The recently released Crackdown 2 is an excellent example. Just like many other recent sequels, it feels like that “2” should have been a “1.5.”
