H&B's is a bit out of the way, but it is one of the best dairy stands in the area. It definitely has the best burger so it's worth the trip.

The Hop is an often overlooked ice cream shop in Norwalk right along the edge of town that serves REAL ice cream (not just soft serve!) and a variety of munchies. The large outdoor seating area has plenty of picnic tables and more room for the kiddies to run around.
