After nearly a four-year gap between releases, The Killers are back with “Battle Born,” a new album due out in September.
If the album’s recently released lead single “Runaways” is anything like the rest of the material, fans should be satisfied and more. The new track is a rousing summer rocker just begging for airplay with the windows down and a stream of fresh air in your face.
When singer Brandon Flowers bellows “Let’s take a chance, baby we can’t lose/Just runaway,” the moment takes on a Bruce Springsteen feeling, where you’re not sure about the pitfalls in the past – you know it’s been a tough road – but with just the right amount of luck and hope, the future can have a bright side.
