Look no further than a music festival that happens to be right in your backyard.   The Sandusky Community Church of Nazarene is hosting their annual Christian concert from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 at their church, 1617 Milan Road in Sandusky.   The faith-based concert, now in its fourth year, will feature performances from 12 to 14 bands.   “The headliner for the concert will be American Idol Alumni Phil Stacey,” said Jeff Meade, co founder of FaithFest. “All of the other acts will perform for 20 to 45 minutes, and Phil will perform for one hour.”   While most of the bands will perform songs that have a Christian message, some acts will perform songs that just have a positive message.   “We wanted to offer something that was church and God related, but in a different way than a typical Sunday service,” said Joshua Nims, co-founder of the event. “We want people to relate to the music and to spread the message, while also enjoying the music and the talented people we have performing.”   With acts coming from Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo and Wooster to perform, organizers believe this year will be their best concert to date.   “We will have everything from rap to jazz to rock music performed at the concert,” Meade said. “Our performers also come from a variety of backgrounds and range from 3 years old to 40 years old.”   With an anticipated 500 people expected to attend, organizers have plenty of food and drinks available when audience members get hungry or thirsty.   “We will have a full concession stand with pizza, pop, water and nachos and cheese,” Meade said. “We will also have a merchandise table where different performers will be selling their merchandise.”   Tickets to the concert are free for children ages 10 and under when they are accompanied by an adult, $5 if purchased by July 27 and $7 if purchased on the day of the concert. To purchase tickets, contact the church’s administration office at 419-625-0804.   “If you like music, this is a great concert to attend,” Meade said. “It is a safe and fun environment, so even if you do not attend church regularly, you will have a great time.”
