I was recently checking out the new Shins album online, trying to decide if I was going to buy it, when a friend who works in the same office as me suggested the band Django Django. She said that she just happened upon them on Grooveshark and that they were sort of Shins-y, so I gave them a shot. I listened to their top song on Grooveshark, "Default," and I immediately fell in love.
"Default" definitely has an early Shins feel to it. It’s got a great beat and some awesome instrumentals. The song has a slight psychedelic feel to, reminding me a little of a more publicly accessible Animal Collective.
It’s definitely something any lover of indie music should at least check out.
