Considering heading to Cedar Point this weekend but not sure if you have the funds? The Sandusky County Fair might be the perfect solution. To help you decide, I stopped by the fair to check it out, take some photos and report back.
With daily passes that include a wristband to enjoy all the rides priced at only $8 for those over 36” in height and $6 for those under 36” in height, plus a measly $2 for parking, the Sandusky County Fair is a steal, especially compared to Cedar Point.
The fair has all manner of concessions stands, vendors, shows and rides. There’s even a separate ride section specifically for guests of the shorter-than-36-inches persuasion.
The concessions stands have refreshments ranging from fried veggies to hamburgers to breakfast sandwiches to Kettle Corn, there’s even a Dippin’ Dots. Plus, if you run out of money there’s a special stand with two ATMs right inside the fairgrounds.
Some of my favorites were the cheddar cheese curds from Mike’s Cheese Shack and the flavored lemon shake-ups from Mrs. T’s stand, both of which were located near the front gate on the walkway that connects to the entrance. The lemon shake-ups are those classic fair lemonades but with flavor added. The flavor choices were lemon, mango, peach and strawberry, I tried a peach mango and it was delicious.
The vendors sell all sorts of things from jewelry to candy to purses, there are rides of all different levels of intensity, all of the classic county fair animals are in attendance and there are a plethora of shows for guests to enjoy. So you know where everything is, and when everything happens, we’ve included the fair map and the fair program schedule, which you can also get for free when you arrive.
We included a few of the photos we took in this story, but to get a better idea of everything at the fair check out the full gallery HERE.
