Looking to lose a few pounds, just stay in shape or even gain a little weight? Want to keep track of your meals on the go? Our App of the Week, Calorie Counter - MyFitnessPal, can help you accomplish your goals.

Calorie Counter has been featured in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Family Circle, Marie Claire, NBC, CNET, Shape, the Today Show and more. It has also won awards from PC Magazine Editor’s Choice Selection and Wired Magazine’s Editor’s Pick for Lifestyle Apps.

Calorie Counter is the mobile and tablet app created by MyFitnessPal.com. Keeping a food diary can be tedious and frustrating, but Calorie Counter from MyFitnessPal keeps it simple and guess-free.

It’s more than just a food diary for dieters. Just create an account and input your basic information and goals and it creates a meal guide just for you. It tells you how many calories, fat, carbs, sugar etc. that you should consume, as well as how much exercise you need to accomplish your goals.

Experienced users or those following a specific diet plan such as Atkins or South Beach can use the Custom setting to set their own limits on their dietary intake. It even allows you to log cardio exercise and tells you how many calories you burned from a wide variety of activities.

It features an expansive user submitted food and exercise database. If you can’t find an item you are looking for you can create an entry. With a camera enabled device you can even scan the barcode on food packaging to get instant diary entries.

Your diary will also store any items you input making it fast and simple to enter foods you eat on multiple occasions. It even allows you to input your own recipes, taking the guess work out of calculating your homemade meals.

The best part is the mobile app is free and available on any Apple, Android and Blackberry device! Download the app for iOS devices HERE, Android devices HERE and Blackberry devices HERE.
