To help you plan out your September a little in advance, we've made a list of the top ten event you'll want to make room for in your schedule.
1) ManiFEST 2K12
Why you should go: This new musical festival is in its first year and is shaping up to be an awesome event. With tons of musical guests and the proceeds going to multiple nonprofit organizations, you can enjoy music and feel good about where your money is going. Plus admission is only $5, or if you bring two canned goods it’s only $3.

2) Go Take a Hike Kickoff
Why you should go: This event is an awesome time for the whole family, and for hikers of any ability level. There will be fishing, musical entertainment, complimentary refreshments, a scavenger hunt and more, all at beautiful McBride Arboretum. Bring the whole family, even the dog is allowed at this special event.

3) Woollybear Festival
Why you should go: This legendary festival is all a celebration for a type of caterpillar. There are all kinds of festival activities, including a race, a woolly bear race. The festival has been going on since the 70’s and people love it. It’s a great family event.

4) Annual Brewery Festival: Milan Brew-Haha
Why you should go: Who doesn’t want to go to a festival all about beer? Enjoy tastings, appetizers, raffles, music and all sorts of vendors. Raise a glass to Milan’s brewing history and maybe try a new brew you’ve never had before. You even get a 5 oz. mini pilsner when you go.

5) Clyde Fair
Why you should go: The Clyde Fair is a classic fair and so much more. With amusement rides, concessions, live music, pageants, a go-kart race in the streets and a car show, It’s sure to be a great time for the whole family.

6) Sandusky Art Walk: Culinary Arts
Why you should go: The Sandusky Art Walks have always been a favorite event of ours at Funcoast. With such a wide spectrum of artwork types showcased it’s hard to get bored. We also love food at Funcoast, in case you couldn’t tell, so combining food and an Art Walk means that we’ll definitely be there.

7) Ghost Hunt
Why you should go: Investigate the Sandusky State Theatre in search of paranormal activity with the Firelands Paranormal Society. Explore the theatre, State room, offices and basement.

8) 2nd Annual Pete’s Pizza Extravaganza
Why you should go: It’s a pizza extravaganza for goodness sake, what more do you need to know? Enjoy all you can eat pizza from ten different local vendors for only $10 per person. It’s the perfect event for anyone who loves pizza.

9) Treasure Island Day
Why you should go: Hunt for treasure during the island-wide yard sale on Kelleys Island. It’s just like a neighborhood-wide yard sale, only way more fun because it’s on an island!

10) Vermilion Third Thursday
Why you should go: Vermilion’s Third Thursdays are, put simply, a big party with live music. Enjoy downtown Vermilion while enjoying the live music of multiple bands, playing a wide range of music styles.
