WHAT: Sandusky Art Walk: Art in the Park
WHEN: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7
WHERE: Washington Park, 200 Washington St., downtown Sandusky COST: Free; art individually priced INFO: 419-627-9964 or www.sanduskyartwalk.com Tai chi, handmade jewelry, paintings and pottery – not exactly elements one would expect of a biker scene. As such, the Sandusky Art Walk: Music in the Garden event originally scheduled to occur downtown Thursday, June 7 has been retooled and relocated in observance of its unintended overlap with Bike Week. “We didn’t realize when we planned it that it was going to conflict with Bike Week,” organizer Judy Corso said. “The two probably wouldn’t really mesh.” Instead, the event has been changed to Art in the Park at Sandusky’s Washington Park on the same date from 5-8 p.m. The usual swath of art forms expected at Art Walk events will still be present, but will be concentrated in the park rather than at businesses around town. Some artists may still display their work at supporting shops, but the precise locations will not be known. No plans have yet been made to reschedule Music in the Garden, but Corso invited any musicians who would like to perform at the next Art Walk event on Thursday, July 5 to come out. The next event will be have a sidewalk chalk art theme and will return to the original downtown location.
