1.) Festival of the Fish
Why you should go: When you think Vermilion, chances are you think of the Woollybear Festival. Well, think again – the Festival of the Fish is equally loved, even if it’s not as well known. There will be queen and princess pageants, a pet parade, a crazy craft race, a lighted boat parade and tons more – just think of all that yummy food!

2.) Party at the Plaza: Tight Wadd
Why you should go: Sandusky’s favorite Friday night party is back, and they’re kicking off with a performance from Tight Wadd. Gather your family and meet your friends downtown at Schade-Mylander Plaza, where you can enjoy great live music, tasty food and brews and a beautiful view.

3.) The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute, starring Terry Lee Goffee
Why you should go: Enjoy the closest thing you can to the flesh-and-blood Man in Black – his talented tribute artist, Terry Lee Goffee. As one reviewer said, “[Goffee] brings Johnny Cash back to life for two hours a night…Cash lives!” Need we say more?

4.) Sandusky Rollergirls Roller Derby Bout
Why you should go: We love to watch things smash into other things — especially when it’s ladies on roller skates doing the smashing. You won’t want to miss this super-fun bout, where you’ll see the Sandusky Rollergirls duke it out with the Gem City Rollergirls (from Dayton). After the event, head to the Pump for the after party.

5.) 38th Annual Jose DeRivera Founders Day Celebration
Why you should go: This is a great family-friendly celebration that honors the founding of the island village of Put-in-Bay by Jose DeRivera. Founder’s Day means great food and lots of fun. Island entertainment will perform a free concert from 12:30-2 p.m., and the Put-in-Bay Hog Roasters will provide a roast beef picnic lunch. Shop for fantastic bargains at one of the many sale tables and pick up information on area nonprofit groups.
