After going on a weeklong Smashing Pumpkins “Gish” jag, the comedown was made easier with the Silversun Pickups’ latest shoegazing affair “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings).”
Hints of the ‘90s grandiosely explode all over this Southern California band’s latest single, which kicks off in a crescendo fashion with grinding guitars and ethereal howls before singer Brian Aubert’s nasally whine provides the necessary momentum of this radio rocker.
While Silversun Pickups’ latest effort “Neck of the Woods” may not be as anthemic as its previous effort “Swoon,” lovers of “Blood Mary (Nerve Endings)” won’t be disappointed.
