Take a walk back in time this weekend with any one of these great historical events. Whether you’re looking to learn about local history, want to browse classic cars or go antiquing, we’ve got something for you.   1.)   Funcoast Sizzling Summer Cruise Giveaway at Cedar Lanes Why you should go: Funcoast is giving away tickets to their annual Sizzling Summer Cruise, and you’re invited! It’s a great way to spend the day. Event will take place rain or shine. To participate, cars must be 25 years or older (pre-1988). Registration is from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and the show takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be 29 cash door prizes. The car show will be unjudged. This event is sponsored by BGSU Firelands and Car Coddlers of Ohio. Tours of the 1820s stone house of Marblehead Lighthouse’s first keepers Benajah and Rachel Wolcott begin at 10 a.m. Ottawa County Historical Society volunteers will offer desserts and Toft’s ice cream from 11 a.m. on. Dulcimer performer Tracie Henson will perform traditional music from 12-2 p.m. The 65-piece North Coast Concert Band will perform at 2 p.m. in the natural amphitheater behind the house, featuring rousing marches, dazzling soloists and contemporary arrangements. The gift shop and museum will be open, and the Kids Cabin Mural is on display for photos. Tickets for the 2012 fundraising drawing will be available for $1 each or six for $5. This year’s prizes include a framed Ben Richmond print, “The Keeper’s House”; a Heritage design quilt and shams from Martha and Molly’s and a sterling silver and gold Marblehead Hook Bracelet from G.S.
