Best Bets for May 31-June 6

Sometimes we don't always agree with others.

Sometimes the disagreements are small. For instance, my husband doesn't think the lyrics to Death Cab for Cutie's "I'll Follow You Into the Dark" make for a great bedtime song for our son. Sometimes the disagreements are on a grander scale. Like the fact that many people argue with me that "Gilmore Girls" is the greatest show on television (yes, that is considered a huge offense in my house).

When it comes to Funcoast.com Magazine, I realize some of you out there may disagree with what events we choose to feature in our pages. You might think the events are lame or boring. Or you might like what we feature but disagree with the quantity of said events. You might really like the musicians we feature, but, the music fiend you are, you want more. Or you might hate music and wish we featured more festivals, art exhibits or plays.

Well, as author Joseph Wood Krutch once said, "Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want." So what's the harm in asking for what you want out of your weekly entertainment guide? Unless you're afraid of cats, that is.

So if there's an event out there you think we should know about, tell us. If you want to see more or less of something, tell us. Because, like a cat, it never hurts to ask for what you want. Tell me what you want (in the magazine -- get your mind out of the gutter). E-mail me at editor@funcoast.com. Just don't disagree with me over "Gilmore Girls." That battle you just won't win.

NAKED MONKEYS, Friday, June 2, Cabana Jacks, 202 Columbus Ave., Sandusky
I can only hope there really will be unclothed primates. If not, it's false advertising, I say.

HOLIDAY IN THE ROUND WINE TRAIL, Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, Westlake to Port Clinton
It's like a pub crawl, only more sophisticated.

HOT HAM & CHEESE CD RELEASE PARTY with Johnny Mohawk & The Assassins, Rebel Girl, The Hunchies, and the Hostile Omish, Saturday, June 3, Agora Theater/Ballroom, 5000 Euclid Ave., Cleveland
I don't know what this is all about, but I like ham and cheese, so it can't be all bad.

RAY FOGG, Saturday, June 3, The Brewery Show Room, 441 Catawba Ave., Put-in-Bay
See the Island Rock God in the flesh. Hopefully not literally, although I wouldn't put it past him.

THUNDER ROAD TRIP, Friday, June 2 through Monday, June 5, starts at Roeder Harley-Davidson, U.S. 250 North, Sandusky
I won't say anything flippant about this event because the bikers might beat me up.
