So your shamrocks have shriveled, your jelly beans are gone and summer seems a long way off. What do we have to look forward to?

Earth Day?

Arbor Day?

Thomas Jefferson's birthday?

Yeah. There's not much to get excited about this time of year.

Or is there?

Maybe it's not all about what the calendar says. Maybe it's more about attitude. Mad Dog Adams, for example, is famous for his motto: "Every day above ground is a gooooood day!"
Hmm. Not a bad philosophy.

How about the folks at I-5's in Huron? I think the name of the bar pretty much sums up their attitude - it's always 5 o'clock (and therefore party time) somewhere!

And just in time to rescue us from the "is winter-EVER-going to end" blues, I-5's (along with Mix 102.7) have brought back a popular party - Working Womans Wednesdays, starting tonight.

To which I say Woohoo! (And also I say "Working Woman" ... isn't that redundant?)

But anyway, W.W.W. - for short - is in this all-new location now and hosted (or hostess-ed?) by 102.7's Nancy Krause with free appetizers, drink specials, drawings and prizes and just as before, someone wins a limo ride to the next week's W.W.W.

Oh, and as long as we're talking about adjusting our winter-weary attitudes, Cherrie and the Passion Party girls will be on hand at Working Womans Wednesdays, warming things up with suggestions on how to make the transition from the stress of a busy work day to the romance of the evening. Their philosophy, after all, is about making "every day Valentine's Day." Again - never mind the calendar!

So what do we have to look forward to?

Well, it would seem we have a lot more than we originally thought. (Not that there's anything wrong with planting a tree or honoring Mother Earth next month.)

And not to worry if you're reading this post-W.W.W. this week. The festivities continue each and every Wednesday at I-5's.

What? That's too long to wait? Boy, I thought I was impatient.

But that's OK, because today has also been designated "Make Your Own Holiday" Day! Seriously. And nowhere in the "rules" does it say your self-created holiday has to be celebrated today.

The rules - or maybe "guidelines" is a better word - simply say, "Today is your day to skip all of the red tape ... and create a special day of any kind. Simply declare your special day on Make Your Own Holiday Day!"

So there - you can make it tomorrow or Friday or next Tuesday (hey, that's April Fools Day!) and celebrate however you like - eat banana splits in your PJs, host your own Passion Party or do a pub crawl with your pals.
Just remember what Mad Dog says and make every day above ground a gooooood day!
