Holiday cheer will be all around at the Annual Christmas In July celebration in historic Vermilion, Ohio. Four fun-filled days of exciting activities, entertainment and fantastic shopping bargainsJuly 24 - 27. Here’s the Verimillion Christmas in July lineup:
July 24, 7 p.m. — Capt'n Willie In Vermilion!
Avast ya' scurvy dogs an' landlubbers alike! Batten down ye hatches as Capt'n Willie ‘The Great Lakes Pirate' navigates his way t' Vermilion in an effort t' be enlistin' an' edutainin' crewmembers both young an' old. Welcome aboard mateys! This here event is free an' open t' all at Exchange Park on the Vermilion River in Downtown Vermilion. Stop by Romp's Dairy Dock after the show for ice cream. Free eye patches and tattoos to all kids and coloring contest. The Inland Seas Maritime Museum will be offering free family passes with every coloring contest submission turned into the museum. Capt'n Willie sponsored by Romp's Dairy Dock & Putter-port, the Inland Seas Maritime Museum & Red Clay on the River.
July 24 - 27 —12 Shops Of Christmas
Vermilion merchants offer special Christmas retail events and Mardi Gras beads. Don't miss the 12 Shops of Christmas retail excursion Thursday through Sunday. Retrieve your card at local merchants, visit 12 shops, and turn in your card to win fabulous prizes. Sponsored by Harbour Town Guesthouse B & B & Vacation Rental and Main Street Vermilion.
July 25, 8:30 p.m. — Santa by Riverboat
Santa arrives by river-boat at 8:30 PM on Friday at Exchange Park. Join thefun-filled festivities. An outdoor Christmas Movie follows, featuring Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Provided by the Vermilion Parks and Recreation Board, sponsored by Bicycle Bill's Fitness Center and Admiral Debbie's Desserts.
July 26, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. — Open Air Market
Treat yourself to an early Christmas present. Main Street Vermilion and the City of Vermilion presents the Vermilion Local Market at Victory Park on Saturday. This local market offers home-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, fresh flowers, local meat, cheese and other goodies. Local artists also showcase and sell their work.
July 27, 7 p.m. — Music In The Park
Christmas In July wraps up with a free concert at Victory Park gazebo in Downtown Vermilion on Sunday at 7 pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Presented by the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, sponsored by Kingston of Vermilion, Lorain National Bank and Ohio Edison.
Art On Main
The Arts Guild of Vermilion will present an art show at the Main Street Vermilion Building, 685 Main Street, all four days. Stop in and view the show. Sponsored by Main Street Vermilion.
OPERATION Twinkle Holiday Light Display
Downtown Vermilion will feature festive lights and animated decorations. The parks will be decorated with a nostalgic collection of figures inspired by historic Christmas light decorations of the 1950's Thursday through Sunday.
Entertainment On The River
Christmas In July rocks on the river at Red Clay with DJ's TJ's and karakoe, holiday style, Friday night begining at 9 pm. Jambones rings in the season on Saturday night at 9 pm. Dockside entertainment is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Don't miss the special Christmas In July celebrations at Red Clay on the River at McGarvey's Landing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
