Go home again at Parkertown II

Unfortunately, because of its location in a nearly vacant plaza on Castalia Street, Parkertown II is easy to miss when you’re cruising through Bellevue. Fortunately, once you’ve spotted it, and taken the time to enjoy the many offerings, the restaurant won’t fall off of your radar.

Owned by the Burkhart family, Parkertown moved from its Portland Road location more than a year ago to settle in downtown Bellevue, and thus became Parkertown number two.

The medium-sized restaurant has always been brought up in local conversation, whether it is talk of the great, home-style cooking, the regulars who visit almost daily or the comfort and kindness shown by the owners and their respected employees.

Open daily, Parkertown is one of the few gems in the area that serves breakfast all day, every day, with plentiful combinations of fresh fruit, buttery hot cakes, French toast and crispy home fries.

They have the best sausage, biscuit and gravy platter served with home fries for less than $4. The biscuits come in a soft, buttery trio, that somehow are never mushy, even under the generous gravy portion that has pieces of sausage in every bite. The pile of home fries that come with it seems never ending, with each bite making you wonder how your stomach can be so full, and yet so much remains your plate.

Whatever your craving is, between the appetizers, dinner and sandwich platters, you’ll surely find something to hit the spot. Steaks are cooked to serve, in T-bone and New York strip form and burgers are juicy and layered with the toppings of your choice.

There’s even a Parkertown Burger, with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and grilled onions piled atop a delicately grilled bun. The restaurant doesn’t fall short when it comes to sandwiches; they’ve got a turkey dip, veal, ham and cheese, pork tenderloin, sausage and BLT.

Rounding out the menu are baskets of shrimp, perch and even roast beef with mashed potatoes. Plenty of sides, including mashed potatoes, steak fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms, salad, applesauce and oodles of veggies lay behind the counter, waiting to compliment your dinner choices for less than $2.

Parkertown has several kid friendly offerings, perfect for those with big eyes but small stomachs, including hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches for less than $2 apiece. Don’t let the three page menu fool you — though it lists many of the establishment’s favorites, the items served in the restaurant don’t conclude on the last page.

Be sure to check out the white board near the entrance; it’s completely plastered with specials that change daily, including lasagna, cabbage rolls, chicken breast, pork chops, meat loaf and prime ribs, items that are readily available but not outlined in the menu. The average price of a meal at Parkertown is around $5, with the highest prices on the menu belonging to those in the steak family, and even those dinners are less than $13.

If you’re far from home and missing the home cooked taste or if you just want an excuse to step away from the kitchen, visit Parkertown II.

they moved due to  the state/county  wanted to put in a new sewer system and the property owners weren't going to put out that kind of  cash  since the restauarant owners  only rented the location they moved into  beleview

Why

Why did they move exactly. Everyone knew where they were before & it was easy for truckers to get to them. As I understand it truckers have to go into down town Belvue to get to them now. Just dumb.

This is not a restaurant review. This is an obsequious, embellished advertisement.
